The Autonomous Intelligent Systems (AIS) lab of the University of Freiburg is concerned with techniques for autonomous navigation, state estimation and motion control in the context of mobile robotics and artificial intelligence.

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the national aeronautics and space research centre of Germany. DLR’s extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. The DLR Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, located in Oberpfaffenhofen, is a part of the Robotics and Mechatronics Center (RMC), a cluster and competence center for research and development in the areas of robotics, mechatronics, and optical systems.

The University of Bonn was founded almost 200 years ago and is considered to be one of Germany’s most important institutes of higher education. UBN is the home of learning to over 31,000 students and has an outstanding reputation both at home and abroad. The department for Photogrammetry at UBN is led by Prof. Dr. Cyrill Stachniss. The lab focuses on robotics and state estimation problems including the interpretation of sensor data from cameras and range sensors, especially the geometric reconstruction and the semantic interpretation of the observed scene.
