KUKA Roboter GmbH, with its headquarters in Augsburg, is a member of KUKA Aktiengesellschaft. KUKA is the market leader in Germany and Europe and the second biggest industrial robot supplier in the world. It grew out of the company Keller und Knappich, which was founded in 1898. The KUKA Robot Group has a close relation to both automotive customers and system integrators as full solution providers, yet the share of innovative non-automotive applications is increasing steadily.

Convergent Information Technologies GmbH

Convergent Information Technologies GmbH (CIT) is a leading provider of software tools for automated planning and programming of processes and robots. CIT tools accelerate off-line programming (OLP) of complex processes or small lots and also enable reactive on-line programming where robot programs must be available within seconds. Last but not least CIT provides proven grasp and motion planning solutions for time and cost-saving realization of bin-picking.

The German Aerospace Center (DLR)

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the national aeronautics and space research centre of Germany. DLR’s extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. The DLR Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, located in Oberpfaffenhofen, is a part of the Robotics and Mechatronics Center (RMC), a cluster and competence center for research and development in the areas of robotics, mechatronics, and optical systems.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm is the largest and oldest technical university in Sweden. KTH provides one-third of Sweden’s capacity for engineering studies and technical research at post-secondary level. KTH conducts top-notch education and research of a broad spectrum, from natural science to all branches of technology.

The Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAS) is a research centre at KTH. The centre performs research in (semi-) autonomous systems including mobile robot systems for manufacturing and domestic applications.

Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn

The University of Bonn was founded almost 200 years ago and is considered to be one of Germany’s most important institutes of higher education. UBN is the home of learning to over 31,000 students and has an outstanding reputation both at home and abroad. The department for Photogrammetry at UBN is led by Prof. Dr. Cyrill Stachniss. The lab focuses on robotics and state estimation problems including the interpretation of sensor data from cameras and range sensors, especially the geometric reconstruction and the semantic interpretation of the observed scene.
